Armando W Betancourt

Armando Willmer Betancourt Rodriguez entered eternal peacefully with the Lord on Thursday, February 15, 2024. He was born August 14th 1947, in Caracas, Venezuela, to the late Armando and Gloria.

A devoted husband to Ines for 50 years, dear loving father of Armando Daniel Betancourt, Armando Dimas Betancourt, daughter of Marines Caridad Betancourt Henley, host daughter Yuki Kobayashi, daughters-in-law Carolina, Francis, and son-in-law Michael. Cherished grandfather of Daniela, Diego, Sara, Sebastian, and Nicole. He was a sibling of Carlos Andres and had a great love for his extended family, nieces, and nephews.

In 1972 he graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in Uruguay. He also earned a degree as a Computer Analyst in Venezuela. He worked in IT and retired from his own Consulting firm. He had several hobbies and interests, including being a radio amateur with the callsign YV5FCK, a passionate orchid grower with several awards, an aquarist, a radio-electronic aficionado, and an inventor. He loved the outdoors and nature, he volunteered in many community initiatives including AFS, and got his dream of becoming a Boy Scout as his kids did. Armando Willmer had a natural talent for music, he played several instruments without formal education and loved dancing and listening to music. His adventurous spirit manifested in many travels around the world with his family.

Armando Willmer will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his legacy of humor, dedication, and hard work will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will always be remembered as charismatic, fun, happy, spontaneous, and kind to everyone. His smile will keep brightening our hearts forever.
