Virginia Lynn “Jenny” Danilowicz

To know Virginia Lynn “Jenny” Danilowicz was to love her. She was a wonderful daughter, sibling, wife, mother, grandmother, friend, and human being. She was born Virginia Lynn Brafford in Corbin, Kentucky, in 1952 and grew up in Southern California. She was married to Raymond “Ray” Danilowicz in Albuquerque, New Mexico where both of her sons, Bryan Patrick Danilowicz and Jeffrey Paul Danilowicz were born. She was dedicated to her family, never failing to show them unconditional love and support. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Bryan Patrick Danilowicz II (born in 1999), Brianna Rae Danilowicz (born in 2000), and Braylon Parker Danilowicz (born in 2011). She served them, and everyone who spent time with her, as the purest example of someone who showered people with selfless kindness, laughter, and love. Jenny was an incredible cook who knew more about prepping food in the home than many professional chefs, and she passed down a love of cooking and good food to her children, grandchildren, and many others. “Jenny Wren” as she was nicknamed in her youth lived with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) for the last twenty years of her life. Her MDS was classified as “Trilineage”, meaning that it attached all three types of her blood cells: white, red, and platelets. In her final challenging year of fighting this blood cancer, she never complained once. She simply fought a quiet fight, and near the end just tried to get well enough to come home to her family and her little Maltipoo puppy, “Daisy”, one last time. Unfortunately, she lived the last 61 days of her life in T. Boone Pickens Cancer Hospital in downtown Dallas, Texas. She will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her in life. And, in death, her memorial seeks to raise awareness and funding for the fight to improve and extend the lives of those still living with MDS, a dreadful and debilitating disease, that in roughly one third of cases ultimately morphs into AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia.
